Job Description
Job Summary:
The Polysomnography Technologist performs basic and advanced diagnostic sleep studies.
Prepares patient and equipment for ordered testing. Interviews patient to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
Performs and documents testing. Monitors patient throughout testing and intervenes as necessary to resolve patient needs or equipment issues.
Scores, interprets and reports results of sleep studies.
Prepares, calibrates, repairs and maintains equipment required for testing. Determines and reports needed repairs/replacements.
Serves as a technical or functional resource.
Required Credential(s):
Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained prior to hire date, job transfer date, or by 12/31/2018.
HS or Equivalent
High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate's Degree in a health related field or Associate's Degree and six (6) months of patient care experience required In lieu of degree, completion of a sleep technology program OR two (2) years experience as a Sleep Technician with documented proficiency is required
Work Experience:
Two (2) years of clinical experience preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
